Description

The material of the Homo Sapiens Lava Dark Age collection is as antique and natural as the world. Visconti were the first ever to experiment with the use of lava to create a pen. The combination of the basaltic lava of Mount Etna volcano is processed into a very fine powder and combined with resin according to a secret formula by Visconti creates an unbreakable substance, hygroscopic and velvety to the touch for an extraordinary result in all respects for the world of writing. Before assembly the parts are polished with special processes to produce the leather like soft effect.

The clip, the rings and the metal trims are all finish in glossy black galvanize treatment. The clip is also a distinctive design element inspired by the shape of the Ponte Vecchio Bridge the symbol of Florence, Italy with laser engraving of the Visconti logo. The cap of the Homo Sapiens Dark Age is made with the characteristic hook safe lock system patented by Visconti. To close the pen just perform a slight twist while to open it just push towards the barrel of the pen and rotate gently.

The fountain pen features the patented Visconti power filler filling system and come with 18kt gold nib in ruthenium dark finish.
